Cambodia Casinos

There is an interesting background to the Cambodia gambling halls that lie just over the border from next door Thailand, in which gambling den wagering is not permitted. Eight casinos are established in a generally small space in the metropolis of Poipet in Cambodia. This collection of Cambodia gambling dens is in a prime area, a three to 4 hour drive from Bangkok and Macao, the two largest betting locations in Asia. Cambodia gambling halls do a thriving business with Thai blue-collar workers and tourists from Malaysia, Japan, South Korea, and Singapore, with only very couple of Westerners. The phenomenal income accrued from the casinos ranges from $7.5 million to more than 12.5 million, and there are a couple of controls requirements for gambling hall ownership. Ownership is required to be largely Thai; still, investment sources are vague. The borders are ceremoniously open from 9:00 a.m. to 1700, and though visas are apparently required to cross, there are methods and means around this, as is true of most borders.
The initial Cambodia gambling dens opened in Phnom Penh in 1994, but were forced to close in 1998, leaving just 1 casino in the capital, the Naga Resort. The Naga, a stationary boat gambling den, contains one hundred and fifty one armed bandits and sixty tables. The Naga gambling den is open all hours with 42 tables of mini-baccarat chemin de fer, four tables of chemin de fer, 10 of roulette, two of Caribbean Stud Poker, and 1 each of Pai-Gow and Tai-Sai.
The first gambling hall in Poipet, the Holiday Palace, opened in the late nineties and the Golden Crown before long followed. A total of one hundred and fifty slot machine games and five tables at the Golden Crown and one hundred and four slots and 68 table games at the Holiday Palace. The newest Holiday Palace Casino and Resort contains three hundred slot machine games and 70 tables and the Princess Hotel and Casino, also in Poipet, has one hundred and sixty six slot machines and ninety six gaming tables, including 87 punto banco (the most dominant game), Fan Tan, and Pai Gow. In addition, there is the Casino Tropicana, with one hundred and thirty five slots and 66 of the common gaming tables, as well as 1 table of Casino Stud Poker. An additional of the 8 gambling dens in Poipet, also a part of a motel, is the Princess Casino with one hundred and sixty six slots and 97 casino games. The Star Vegas Casino is part of an international resort and hotel building that highlights numerous amenities on top of the gambling den, which offers ten thousand sq.ft. of one hundred and thirty one armed bandits and eighty eight table games.
