There is a fascinating history to the Cambodia gambling dens that reside just over the border from neighboring Thailand, in which casino gambling is not allowed. Eight casinos are situated in a relatively small area in the metropolis of Poipet in Cambodia. This collection of Cambodia gambling halls is in an excellent location, a three to 4 hour travel from Bangkok and Macao, the 2 biggest gambling locations in Asia. Cambodia gambling dens do a huge business with Thai blue-collar workers and guests from Malaysia, Japan, South Korea, and Singapore, with just a few Westerners. The phenomenal capital gained from the casinos ranges from $7.5 million to over twelve and a half million dollars, and there are a couple of controls constraints for gambling den ownership. Ownership is presumed to be mostly Thai; although, funding sources are ambiguous. The borders are officially open from 9:00 a.m. to 17:00, and though visas are apparently necessary to cross, there are methods and means around this, as is accurate of most borders.
The initial Cambodia gambling halls premiered in Phnom Penh in the mid nineties, but were required to close in 1998, leaving just 1 gambling hall in the capital, the Naga Resort. The Naga, an anchored boat gambling hall, contains 150 slot machines and 60 gaming tables. The Naga river boat never closes with forty two tables of mini-baccarat chemin de fer, four tables of vingt-et-un, 10 of roulette, 2 of Caribbean Stud Poker, and one each of Pai-Gow and Tai-Sai.
The 1st gambling hall in Poipet, the Holiday Palace, opened in the late nineties and the Golden Crown before long followed. An additional of the eight gambling dens in Poipet, also in a motel, is the Princess Casino with one hundred and sixty six slots and 97 casino games. The Star Vegas Casino is is located in a comprehensive resort and hotel complex that highlights a number of comforts accompanying the casino, which offers ten thousand sq.ft. of one hundred and thirty slot machine games and 88 gaming tables.
