Learning From My Betting Blunders
Tuesday, 2. February 2010
First to explain why I write this article. I have been wagering on the net or at land-based casinos for many years. I have discovered, the dependency can take a hold of you and you won’t even realize it up until you are beaten. Particularly if you’re on a winning streak. I have gone through many thousands of dollars in a very short amount of time and to this day on occasion, I’ll go a bit too far. It seems you’re just having a blast until you start to pay attention to your defeats and the guilt sets in, and then you continue to tell yourself "I can get it back" repeatedly. It does not works. Then you feel queasy in your stomach and the harder you attempt the faster you are deprived.
When you notice that you’re up, STAY on the UP! When you begin to be beaten, do not say to yourself, "well just maybe one more" and again and again, trust me, this method RARELY ever works. Say you’re betting on slot games, have an amount set to the side before starting your play. DO NOT exceed that limit, no matter how captivating. If you actually win, put that in a different cup. Do not use your profits no matter what. Once you have gambled through your original set limit, stop. Leave, whether it’s on the internet or at a physical betting house, do not stay around. Always keep in mind, there is going to be a different day, another time.
Keep in mind, gambling is supposed to be exciting not exhausting, sickening work! If you aren’t enjoying yourself, you don’t belong there. If youcan’t manage the cost, don’t even start.
